CASSELBERRY -- Glenn Stepp, 18, is an inspiration. He was born with spina bifida -- a deformity to the spine -- yet that never stops him.
Glenn just got back from a dream of a lifetime trip to Washington, D.C.
New Hope for Kids is a Central Florida-based nonprofit organization that works with kids with disabilities, and one of the things they do is help to grant wishes.
With the help of some University of Central Florida students and Congressman Tom Feeney, Glenn got to meet the president of the United States, George Bush, and he has the pictures to prove it (right).
"It was an awesome experience that I've never heard anybody else that I know do. So that was an awesome experience, once in a lifetime, for sure," Glenn said.
Glenn described President Bush as down to earth, and made him and his parents feel right at home -- in the Oval Office.
Out of all the wishes he could have chosen, News 13 wanted to know why Glenn chose to meet the president.
I took a government class this year in school, so that really got me fired up about politics, and really wanted to see how it was run, and I figured I might as well dream to meet the president while I'm at it," Glenn said.
To make this wish come true, it was a true team effort. Five University of Central Florida students raised over $1,200 for the trip, and Congressman Tom Feeney arranged the meeting with the president.
As for Glenn's future plans, he said he was headed to college next year, but has not ruled out politics in his future.
Glenn said it was still too early to tell, but one thing was for sure: He will have quite the story when he heads to college.
