Orlando firefighters at Fire Station One pulled double duty before the Christmas holiday.
Not only were they busy battling flames, but in their spare time, they built bikes for kids.
Fire Chief Jim Reynolds said the firemen have developed a system over the last five years, which helps them get all the bikes assembled.
The next day, Santa and some of his friends in blue made their way through the streets of Downtown Orlando to hand out the very special Christmas gifts.
In all, more than 80 children living in Reeves Terrace got new bikes.
After a little adjusting, each kid was able to grab the bike that fit them.
"I like this bike," said Veronica Stevens of her new Christmas gift. "It's kind of high, because I'm short -- I'm a shrimp -- but they let the seat all the way down for me. I'm still short, but I love my bike!"
The bike program is part of Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan's Wheels for Kids Program, which started five years ago after school bus routes from Reeves Terrace to several downtown schools were cancelled due to budget cuts.
Many of the bikes were donated by area businesses, and thanks to the firefighters, they were assembled and delivered on time.
That is why they are our Central Floridians of the Week.
