Orlando - 14th Annual RotaryFest 2008RotaryFest 2008 will hit the sidewalks of Lake Eola’s International Land Bridge. The street painting concept originated in Italy, where it is called "I modernari." RotaryFest is a one-day, fun-filled artistic triumph. This year’s event will feature over 80 artists using chalk as a medium for their paintings. Seeing the creation of art with a background of sun, music and entertainment result in a fundraising event to be remembered. The Rotary Club of Orlando is celebrating the 14th anniversary of the event. Since its inception, the proceeds have always been earmarked for Orlando’s children’s charities, raising over $200,000. Beneficiaries include Ivey Lane School, The Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and the Russell Home for Atypical Children. Join us for a proclamation reading honoring the event, and the Rotarians that helped shape the Central Florida region over the last century. Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps to build good will and peace in the world. The Rotary Club of Orlando is Central Florida's oldest and largest club, founded in 1920.
