Lonmgwood - Serb Fest 2009

Over the last several years on the property of our church in Longwood we have organized SerbFest, with a goal to show our cultural treasure to those who are not familiar with it here, on American soil. Year after year more and more guests come and the Festival slowly is starting to become a symbol of the area we live in. This year it will be our honor to host several folk dance groups from the United States and Canada, as well as an ethnic ensemble band from North Carolina. All of them are going to show a variety of dances and songs from the areas we come from, as well as traditional Serbian outfits. In our church, there will be a gallery of sacred vessels and utensils from the Serbian Orthodox Church. Alongside songs, dance, and wholesome fun, we will have an excellent choice of food and drinks, whose roots also come from the areas we hail from. These foods represent our traditional kitchen recipes and are all going to be prepared by our diligent housewives. For our children we have prepared fun activities, including bounce houses and games, so that they will also have something to occupy their time.
