ORLANDO -- A new restaurant, with a meal fit for a king, opened in Central Florida Tuesday.
Burger King has opened up a Whopper Bar at Universal Orlando Resort's CityWalk.
You can get more than fries and a coke at the new Whopper Bar. You can have your whopper you way with 22 toppings including:
- Smoked bacon
- Pepper bacon
- Cheddar
- Pepper jack
- Swiss
- American
- Grilled onions
- Angry onions
- Onions
- Crispy onions
- Onion rings
- Pickles
- Jalepenos
- Burger relish
- Guacamole
- Sauteed mushrooms
- BBQ sauce
- A.1 thick and hearty sauce
- Angry sauce
- Bourbon-flavored sauce
- Parmesan peppercorn sauce
- Thousand Island
Given a royal opening, Burger King officials are putting a lot behind their latest project. The Whopper Bar is the first of its kind and attempt by the king to beef up sales.
"During a tough economy, the most important thing that a company needs to do is keep innovating and this is one of our innovation strategies to keep the brand fresh," said Russ Klein from Burger King.
People are certainly excited about the new restaurant. However, people said the secret ingredient that will make them come back isn't the high number of choices. It's the price.
Burger King officials said they chose Orlando because there is a very wide demographic of people who come in and out of Universal Studios.
Six more Whopper Bars are expected to open around the world by the end of the year. The next one is set for Munich over the summer. There will also be Whopper Bars in Los Angeles, New York and Singapore.
